Don’t Give Up, Home Inspection Marketing Is The Answer!

home inspection marketingEffective Home Inspection Marketing Is The Key To Success!

Recently I got this e-mail from a home inspector who had reached his limit.  It was really a cry for help!

He wrote…

“Ken, I would like to challenge you try to get inspections in my area (City, ST); I am on the verge of giving it up.”

And here was my response:

“Dear xxxxxx,

My initial reaction without knowing your circumstances would be NEVER GIVE UP!  Most home inspectors give up right before they make a home inspection marketing break through!

So before you give up you need to ask yourself these home inspection marketing questions…

1.  Do You Have Written Goals For All Aspects Of Your Business?

2.  Do You Have A Written Marketing Plan?

3.  Do You Have A Written Marketing Calendar?

4.  Do You Have A Direct Response Web Site That Makes Sales 24/7?

5.  Do You Have Online Marketing Strategies In Place, Including A Blog Or A Pay Per Click Campaign?

6.  Do You Have Offline Marketing Strategies In Place, Including Direct Mail?

7.  Have You Targeted Any Real Estate Offices To Employ Your Relationship Marketing Strategies?

8.  Are you Engaged In Go Direct To The Public Strategies, Including A Builders Warranty Campaign or Classified Ads?

9.  What Business To Business Strategies Are You Engaged In?

10.  Are You Doing “Performance To Plan” At The End Of Each Month To See What’s Working And What’s Not?

11.  Can prospects and potential referral sources easily and quickly understand “What’s In It For Them” By Doing Business With Your Firm?

12.  What Prior Client Marketing Strategies Are You Engaged In?”

Unfortunately, I haven’t heard back from this person, so hopefully he’s thinking through these home inspection marketing questions and will take action on at least a few of them, so he doesn’t have to go out of business.

So, let me ask you, which of the home inspection marketing strategies listed above do you have in place in your own firm, to ensure your success?

If you didn’t say that you have all of these home inspection marketing strategies in place in your firm…then you owe it to yourself to get signed up with the Home Inspection Marketing Center and get started working these strategies into your firm today!

Implementation of proven effective home inspection marketing strategies is truly the key to success!

  2. I am writing because you connected with me on face book. I am experiencing business start up blues, with little or no success. After being a housing inspector for the county and having that job contracted out, I was forced to take an alternate route. I invested in home inspection and obtained my state required training and license. Now that I’m licensed, I have tried to self market my services through RE agents and built a web-site. In addition, I joined InterNACHI and am trying to take advantage of their marketing as well. However, as I’ve read from others in you web-site, I am on the verge of giving up. So far the cost of start-up is like a money drain. The problem is, there is more going out than is coming in. It’s not that I’m a bad inspector, it’s that I’m a bad sales man. What services or suggestions do you have for me to look into? Something has got to give, I need to work full time. I am feeling as if I am invisible to my would be clients.

Robert, never give up! You need to know two things about marketing your home inspection business. These things are so important, I call them ‘Fundamental Marketing Rules!’

Fundamental Rule #1: When home buyers understand what’s in it for them by doing business with your firm, they will choose you.

Fundamental Rule #2: When people know you, like you and trust you, they will use you and they will refer you to others.

When marketing home buyers directly (via your web site) you need to make sure that your site let’s the consumer know that you are so thorough in your evaluation of the property that if you do the inspection on the property they are considering buying, they won’t get stuck with a money pit.

Take a look at my home inspection web site and see the techniques we use to get home buyers to choose our firm. http://www.HomeInspectorAtlantaGA.com

You use the same fundamental marketing rules to get real estate agents to refer you to their clients as well.

At Home Inspector Startup And Growth we teach these concepts in detail. To join our winning team go to http://www.HomeInspectorStartupAndGrowth.com

Richard, I agree with you totally; you don’t need to be a GC to be a great home inspector! But you have already learned a very important lesson…even though you are a good inspector, you can go out of business quickly because no one knows about you or your services.

You need to learn how to effectively market your business to secure your financial future! Too many inspectors focus on becoming a ‘great technician’ and don’t learn to market their firm.

Please know that handing out business cards and brochures in real estate offices is not effective marketing! At Home Inspector Startup And Growth we teach our Members how to market their firm directly to home buyers and how to build meaningful relationships with other professionals in the industry so they provide referrals.

Hundreds of home inspectors, both one man shops and multi-inspector firms, use my marketing system to get and keep their inspection schedule full and you can too. To learn more about Home Inspector Startup And Growth and to get signed up just click on the link below.
