Home Inspection Marketing Question…
Did you know that YouTube was the second largest search engine in the world?
That’s right, only Google gets more searches than YouTube!
So if somebody searches for a home inspector in your marketing area and you are not coming up in the top of the search engines on YouTube, you’ve missed a great opportunity to get a home inspection.
I saw a study the other day that showed only 17% of consumers trust traditional business advertising.
Here’s why that’s good news for you…
If you’ve read any of my other blog posts you’ll know that one of the home inspection marketing fundamental truth’s is that nobody will do business with your home inspection company until they understand what’s in it for them.
What they want to understand is do you have the technical expertise to thoroughly evaluate the property they are considering and communicate your inspection findings to them clearly, so that they don’t get stuck buying a money pit.
And you also know from reading my prior posts that the second fundamental home inspection marketing fact is that consumers want to be able to know, like and trust the people that they do business with. And there’s no better way to establish expertise and to start building the know me, like me, trust me relationship than by having somebody watch your videos on YouTube!
Consumers can actually see the types of issues that you are identifying during the course of the inspection by watching your videos and they can hear the sound of you voice which helps them start building a “virtual” relationship with you.
Home Inspection Marketing Tip:
You really have two options in the type of videos that you post on YouTube. You can shoot a live video of something outrageous that you see during the course of the inspection or you can produce a screencast video of a single picture or group of pictures.
I know that home inspectors take pictures of all kinds of issues during the course of every inspection. You can put these pictures on a PowerPoint slide and then use your screen capture software to describe what you’re seeing.
Regardless of which he video style you use, when you’re finished making your video you can upload it to YouTube and start taking advantage of that powerful search engine. Using YouTube to build relationships with your target audience is a ‘killer” home inspection marketing strategy!
One of the nice things about uploading your video to YouTube is that once it’s uploaded, YouTube produces an embed code for you. You can just snag that embed code and then host that video on Facebook or any of your other social network properties, plus you can put it on your website.
Another home inspection marketing benefit of having your videos posted on YouTube, is that others can grab the embed code of your video and post it on their website or social networking properties. Then when folks come to their website they see your video and you clearly become the obvious expert on that topic to them.
When you take your videos and do more than one thing with them, we call that repurposing your content.
Before you post your videos up on YouTube there are a few things you need to know.
1. What are the key words someone would type into the browser of YouTube to find a home inspector in the city they’re moving to.
